1. Who we are

Elite Import Ltd ("Elite Import", "we", "us") is a furniture importer and wholesale distributor at 1190 Meyerside Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 1R7, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through eliteimport.ca and when you contact us. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information we collect

Information you give us - When you use our contact form, email, call or message us: your name, email, phone number, company name and your message. - When you create a trade account: your name, business name, email, phone, address and login details. - When you visit our showroom or place an order with our sales team: the details needed to prepare quotes, invoices and deliveries.

Information collected automatically When you visit the website, we and our service providers collect some technical information using cookies and similar tools. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and your general location (city or region).

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. This website is intended for businesses and adults.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information only to run our business, including to:

  • answer your questions and send catalogues, quotes and product information;
  • set up and manage trade accounts;
  • process orders, invoices and deliveries arranged through our sales team;
  • understand how the website is used and improve it;
  • show our advertising to people who may be interested, on Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram);
  • keep the website secure and prevent fraud; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We will only use your information for a new purpose after telling you, and asking for your consent where the law requires it.

4. We do not sell your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as described below.

5. Who we share it with

Service providers that help us run the website and our business, who may only use your information to provide services to us: - Shopify Inc., which hosts this website and stores information from forms and accounts; - email, messaging and office software providers; and - delivery and logistics partners, when you arrange a delivery with us.

Analytics and advertising partners. The website uses Google Ads and related Google measurement tags, and the Meta pixel. These collect browsing information through cookies to measure visits and show our ads. Legal reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

6. Information stored outside Canada

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Google and Meta, may store or process information in the United States or other countries. While your information is in another country, it is subject to that country's laws, and the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it. We use contracts and other reasonable means to protect information that is handled for us.

7. Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work for browsing the catalogue, but some features may not. 8. Marketing messages

We will only send you commercial emails or messages where you have agreed, or where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation otherwise allows. Every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing sales@eliteimport.ca.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. For example, business and tax records are generally kept for at least six years. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

10. How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including secure hosting, password-protected systems and access limited to staff who need it. No website or system is completely secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

11. Your rights

You can ask to: - see the personal information we hold about you; - correct information that is wrong; and - withdraw your consent to marketing or other uses, subject to legal or contract limits.

We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
